‘Idol’ is the third release from Hull’s hottest new export; FRONTEERS. Released on 11th March, it received its worldwide premiere from 6Music’s Steve Lamacq on Tuesday 26th January and was swiftly followed later that evening by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens. Both were big supporters of previous single ‘It’s Up To Me Now’, which also received acclaim from Radio X’s John Kennedy. They closed 2015 supporting Blossoms and Pretty Vicious and will be joining the latter for an NME Awards Show at Dingwalls on 11th February – their first London date.
Produced by Cam Blackwood, ‘Idol’ is a reverb rock thumper with a deeper psychedelic feel. “It’s about when you’ve been over thinking something; sending yourself mad,” explains vocalist Andy Towse. “It’s that voice inside your head telling you to stop but you’re just not hearing it.”
