This is up there with one of the best tracks I’ve heard so far this year. It hints at Joe Goddard’s production and crossover feel, and it’s meant to be exactly that. Premiered last night on Zane Lowe’s show and out in April on Domino, George is bringing the underground to the masses. The sounds used in this track are all rage at the moment but it’s been lacking that spark to really bring it alive. Those familiar with MCDE, the Lobster Theremin label and Floating Points will be all too familiar with this type of music but I absolutely commend both George and Domino for taking it out of it’s chin-stroking comfort zone and experimenting with its reaction amongst the ‘general’ public.
