Talos is capable of making smart pop anthems. His music is the soundtrack to black-tie balls with sounds that lay akin Jessie Ware’s sultry voice, Jessie Lanza’s tangled production and more obviously, James Blake’s floaty soundscape. ‘Bloom’ is a ballad with vocals that bleed into an instrumental and sometimes overwrought strutting drums. ‘Tethered Bones’, his debut single fast became a tour de force; it was selected as one of The Guardian’s top tracks from around the world. ‘Bloom’, on the other hand is a little more laid back with less of a pearly sheen and more of rigid structure, showing off Talos as a more assured artist.
