Following on from the release of the video for ‘Pharaoh’ (which you can see here), we have another little peek at what is shaping up to be a very exciting project from Essex rapper Dream Mclean, in Greyscale. In ‘D.W.I.D’ we have, Dream, Pro Green and CASisDEAD trading bars over some dark and gritty production from High Frequency. As soon as the drums hit you know you’re in for something special, the raw and rugged style Mclean is synonymous with is in full effect here. Both collaborators turn up too, no lazy verses here.

Dream Mclean was one of my favourite discoveries of last year, after hearing ‘Sloe Gin‘ played on 1Xtra I decided to delve into his back catalogue and found a lot of brilliant and exciting music, stuff which still gets heavy rotation on my iPod such as, ‘Weatherman‘ and ‘Network’. I still have no idea how he isn’t bigger than he is. Dream is signed to Chase & Status’ MTA Records, with the release of Greyscale not far away I have no doubt he will soon be getting the recognition he so readily deserves.
