B. Dolan – Natural Born Trouble

It’s been 2 years since we’ve had any new music from B. Dolan, it’s been a long wait. He returns with ‘Natural Born Trouble’ produced by Buddy Peace. If you’re unaware of Who B. Dolan is, he’s a rapper, spoken word artist and activist, signed to Independent Hip Hop label Strange Famous Records. I first discovered Dolan after seeing him supporting Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip in Manchester about 4 years ago and have followed his career since.

The start of the track has an introduction from Neil Hamburger, announcing the House of Bees Vol.3 mixtape which this track is from. It’s another brilliant beat from Buddy Peace, it’s heavy hitting and also features a American-folk sample from Hoyt Axton ‘Thunder’n Lightnin’, which gives the track a lot of gravitas. Dolan’s voice snarls over the thumping drums as he tells tales of trouble making throughout his life. He brings some great lines, such as “Y’all rappers were born, I was expelled out my momma”. I think this track is perfectly balanced, if you like this make sure you check out House of Bees Vol.3 when it drops soon.
