TCTS aka. Sam O’Neil is a producer that I’ve been following since his incredible single ‘1997’ back in 2012. There has always been a slightly poppier side to his music but ‘Games’ seems to have taken that to a new level and I think for the more underground dance listeners, this track is probably not for you.
However, for those who are more accepting of mainstream dance acts you’ll probably enjoy this. Kate Stewart’s impeccable vocals immediately draw you in, while TCTS slowly teases you with new layers of funky swell synths and percussion. In true TCTS style we are met with a heavy, hard-hitting bassline and a groovy house beat. I’m personally a fan and think it’s fair to say that both his song-writing and production have matured massively over the last couple of years. I particularly like how he collaborates with rising talent which is a main feature of his new EP ‘Games’ featuring a plethora of guest vocalists, including Black Butter signing Sam Sure.
The Games EP is set to be released on July 13th through MTA Records.
