Top 5 Artists At… Gottwood Festival

This years Gottwood Festival is fast approaching so we’re putting together a playlist of 5 acts you probably shouldn’t miss. Set in a forrest-enclosed backdrop, the boutique music and arts festival has gained quite the reputation for itself over the past few years. On the 19-22nd June in Anglesly, Wales, the creme de la creme of the electronic music world will set-up shop and give you its spacey-offerings. Here’s 5 artists you should go out of your way to see.

1. Dense & Pika

2013’s Colt mesmerised the scene and saw Dense & Pika enter the Resident Advisor, XLR8R and Mixmag Top 100 tracks of the year lists. They’re no one-hit wonder either, as we speak they are sitting happy at the number 1 Beatport techno chart with their remix of Paul Woolford’s ‘Erotic Discourse’.

2. James Welsh

Hypercolour’s James Welsh has been a favourite of ours for a very long time. Ever since we heard ‘The Way’ we’ve been in love with his productions. Last year saw his Sent EP reach our Top 30 tracks of 2013 list so we’re especially excited to see him out. His new EP Gentinetta is a straight up banger!

We’re a little bias about sticking TCTS in this list but he’s Manchester born and bred so it’s a no brainer. Let’s give credit where credit is due, TCTS has risen up the ranks this year releasing on the likes of Greco-Roman and a forthcoming EP on MTA Records. This boy has talent, we recommend you check him out.

4. Medlar

Medlar, also known and Klic is massively under appreciated. Also part of the Wolf Music mandem, he throws out high-calibre productions like clockwork. If you’re a keen follower of his Facebook, you’ll also appreciate his Record of the Day skit – useful for unearthing those hidden gems!

5. Tale of Us

These Italian boys know how to put on a show. First saw them at the Warehouse Project last year and it was by far the highlight of the entire night – and this was a night that had the likes of Dixon, Hot Since 82 and Ejeca. If you know anything about the parties these guys throw then you’ll have a slight incline as to just how good Tale of Us were that night and just how good we expect them to turn out at Gottwood.

If you still haven’t got tickets to this years proceedings, you can still purchase them here.
