FOUND festival was born as a showcase for the myriad characters and styles that have made the London based club nights famous, and June 2014 sees its second instalment. The festival (which has hosted the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Huxley and Breach) prides itself in having its finger on the pulse of London’s underground electronic scene.
This years line-up, notably more eclectic, still features the same heavy hitting household names such as DJ Sneak, Damien Lazarus and Darius Syrossian. However, FOUND has succeeded in curating a less well-known mix of the very new and the not-so-new. Serial techno/house producer Moodymann is set to make an appearance, as is the Berlin house impresario Anja Schneider, with a headline act still to be announced. Label-mates Bicep and Citizen are both gracing the Love Fever stage. FOUND being the first of Citizens’ festival appearances this year.
If you still aren’t tempted, FOUND has bolstered its ranks with multiple other brands, including Nofitstate and the aforementioned Love Fever Records. The DJ – Party duo Krankbrother are of particular interest. Krankbrother specialise in guerrilla parties; mountaintops, yachts and rooftops have all been home to their unique events. This year they will be organising the VIP stage: The Mad Hatters Tea Party. If a cheap (relatively), original (definitely) and absurd (possibly) festival experience is right down your street, FOUND is a stellar consideration.
