One of the hottest and most talked about festivals of last year, Gottwood have somewhat come out in 2014 tipped to, again, become one of the highlights of the summer. Set in what can only be described as a house and techno haven, this years incredible roster includes the likes of Dense & Pika, Maribou State, Medlar and Tale of Us. Not only has the festival booked the finest array of world-class producers, it’s backed by the scenes most formidable brands. Partnering this years festival are the ubiquitous electronic music brand – Resident Advisor – FACT and Crack Magazine and a plethora of quality labels including Hypercolour, Futureboogie, and Wolf Music.
If that’s not enough to tempt you from your hard-earned pennies, then let me just say that it’s one of the cheapest camping festivals in the country. Priced at only £85, you get 4-days of unadulterated (but legal) fun. The location is set in the midst of a forrest laden with hideout spots and a tent with visuals that’ll have you testing absolute reality.
However, what sets Gottwood apart is their ethos to support local emerging talent. From personal experience, I know that it takes more than booking the hottest DJ’s to make a festival – a festival. You need an atmosphere, one that over the years, Gottwood have learned to tweak, refine and maximise the use of the comforting space they call home. You’ll get to know everyone there, you’ll make tonnes of friends and not once will you feel threatened. This isn’t a festival for the low-vest wearing, UV-sporting, macho-macho men – this is a festival for real people who like real music who are in it to have a real good time.
