Gorgon City have become a favourite of mine of late. As a self-confessed admirer of female vocals, the bass-house outfit compliment a rolling low-end with chart-ready production. I must admit that I’ve been quite hesitant with the way that house music will be in demise by the apparent ‘culture’ that now goes with it. However, over the past year or so, it’s revealing a rather family-friendly vision with the likes of Clean Bandit, Gorgon City and Disclosure taking the acclaim for penetrating the charts whilst maintaining underground credentials. It’s onwards and upwards for dance music and it will probably remain that way for some time now. The old fogies are now beginning to admit that dance music is classically driven, by means of theoretical composers.
