First Televised Daft Punk show in 5 years

Daft Punk have been confirmed to play the Grammy awards in a show that is promised to be a ”collaborative and celebratory stage performance”. From this we can only hope that they stick to some of their older stuff as their new album was nothing but a flop. To think that they have spent a solid few years developing the album with collaborations from Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder and Julian Casablancas is tragic when you listen to the outcome. People are claiming that Random Access Memories is probably going to take the award for album of the year, but to me its one of those albums that has completely split its listeners into those who think it’s their worst to date, to those who think that its one of the boldest and most avant- garde albums of the year.

Their last televised appearance was with Kanye West in 2008 as they featured in a live performance of Stronger. This time however, Rolling Stone have confirmed that they will perform ”alongside them a number of other acts”, and we can imagine Nile Rodgers and Pharell Williams being among those. We can’t wait for that because we didn’t hear Get Lucky enough this summer…
